CONCRETE POLISHING
What is Concrete Polishing?
Concrete Polishing entails a process of grinding, honing, dyeing, densifying, and polishing an existing concrete surface to the same finish as polished marble, resulting in a nearly indestructible, low maintance but stylish floor.

AMERIPOLISH TRAINED AND CERTIFIED
GRINDING: A process using metal bond diamonds to remove high / low areas, to remove the “cream”(top layer) of the concrete to begin to expose the aggregate (similar to terrazzo).
HONING: A process of resin bond diamond resurfacing (100-400 grit)
DYEING: We use only AmeriPolish solvent based or the eco-friendly water based dye systems, offering 23 color selections, sprayed down with the Patriot spray system at the 200 grit stage to insure maximum dye retention.
DENSIFIYING: We use only high quality densifiers applied at the 400 grit stage. This chemical application fills, seals, and makes the concrete “harder” so it can then be polished like marble.
POLISHING: Completed (like marble) with finest available resin bond diamond (800-1500 grit) resulting in a high polished, stylish, “terrazzo like” low maintance floor.
ENGRAVING: An option we offer, to cut 1/8” or ¼” lines in the slab, fill with color selected epoxy stainless grout, then complete the polish process, to give the effect of large “granite sized” stones, or small to resemble grouted tile.
NOTE ABOUT DYED POLISHED CONCRETE:
SLABS: existing concrete slabs differ in chemical compositions, cure rates, cure temperatures, and aggregate colors, resulting in absorption rate and retention rate of dye systems to differ leaving a “natural stone” type modeling of color.
DYES: AmeriPolish concrete dyes actually absorb into the open pores of concrete. Unlike concrete (acid staining) that reacts only to the surface, and eventualy wear off, these dyes become permanent for a lifetime of color. However, these dyes do not leave a solid color but a beautiful “translucent” “natural stone” color.
